Summary
Deep in the remote woods of northern Minnesota, a tragedy has occurred on a family camping trip. A father and son are missing, and search teams have found their campsite ravaged. They are presumed dead until, a decade later, the son suddenly appears, largely uncommunicative and exhibiting violent tendencies. The authorities have no choice but to send him to a psychiatric facility. There, Maya Stark, the assistant language therapist, is tasked with making a connection with her high-profile patient. No matter how she tries, however, he refuses to answer questions about what happened to him in the Boundary Waters. But Maya, who was abandoned by her own mother, has secrets, too. And as she's drawn closer to this enigmatic young man, she'll risk everything to reunite him with his father, who has disappeared from the known world
