He battled his opponents, sometimes his teammates, and often the Cleveland Browns' legendary head coach Paul Brown. Never shy about expressing his opinions, Brown would become the subject of FBI investigations and surveillance. Then there were the women--the patient wife who endured public humiliation; the girlfriends and the scandalous accusations of violence. But Jim Brown had ambitions greater than football: he launched a movie career as Hollywood's first black action hero, and he became a civil rights activist as well
