Summary

Sophie Wittenbauer heft her strict Mennonite hometown under a cloud of shame. After a rough childhood and poor choices, she had to change her life. At her entry-level newspaper job, Sophie overhears gossip about a prisoner with information on an unsolved crime. The other reporters write it off, but Sophie can't. She knows the prisoner's name. Learning that one of the suspects is hiding out in Sanctuary, Missouri, she takes on a false identity to investigate and meets a young pastor, the very man she'd loved as a troubled teen
