- Summary
- Wyatt Yarbro is a changed man. Former rustler and train robber, he decides to mend his ways and settle down in Stone Creek, temporarily holding the duties of deputy marshal. Wyatt meets Sarah Tamlin, an independent young woman, daughter of the town banker and rumored to be a poker player and cigar smoker. Sarah's life is more complicated than a game of cards, however. She is running the bank for her father, whose forgetfulness keeps getting worse. Her old flame, Charles Langstreet, is back in town. As Charles is a part-owner of the bank, Sarah's determined to keep her father's forgetfulness from his scrutiny. But a deeper, darker, secret begins to unravel as Sarah meets Owen, the 10-year old boy Charles has brought to town with him. Will Sarah and Wyatt learn to lean on each other as they face the troubles from their pasts?
