"Of Two Minds" is an honest look at what it means to be bipolar in a society in which mental illness of any kind is accompanied by social stigma and discrimination. This documentary follows the lives of a few of the millions of Americans living with bipolar disorder. The viewer watches their highs and their lows, their battles against themselves and others to be properly treated medically, and the challenges they face in the workplace and within their own families. The goal is to put a face on the disorder which brings with it both sorrow, humor, and sometimes flashes of brilliance. More people are coming out of the "bipolar closet" and our society needs to understand what it means, and doesn't mean, to be bipolar. After all, bipolar disorder doesn't make someone stop wanting the things that everyone else does: family, a career, and happiness. It also doesn't mean they can't achieve them. However it does mean that they will face challenges from themselves as well as others who don't understand. Perhaps this film will decrease those who don't understand
