A short distance west of the city of Delaware was the farm where I grew up. The Delaware Run meandered through the pasture behind our barns. As a youth I would play along its banks and imagine what it would have been like living there when this land was a frontier. Through the years I heard intriguing stories of hardships and dangers faced by both the Indians and the settlers of this area. These stories took place by the springs and streams of Delaware County.
